Historic boards are often longer,
wider and denser than modern farmed
lumber. The harvesting of lumber
from very old and possibly virgin
forest makes these structural boards
bigger and stronger. The harvesting
of the virgin cypress swamp in
Manchac, Louisiana (27 miles
northeast of New Orleans) is well
documented. Cypress is still the
preferred exterior siding board for
its natural moisture and insect
retardants.
We sell structural boards by the
linear foot. Call for prices on 2x4,
2x6, 2x8, 2x10, and 2x12.
Specialty boards are also available
by request, which may include,
cypress exterior siding, pine tongue
and grove hardwood floors, interior
fireplace mantles, exterior facade
brackets, and exterior storm
shutters. |
